Priyamani also known as Priya Vasudev Mani Iyer started her acting career in the Telugu movie titled Evare Atagaadu and her first tamil movie was Kangalal Kaidhu Sei both didnt do that well. But, later in the year 2007 her role as Muthazhagu in the movie Paruthi Veeran won her many accolades such as National Film Award for Best Actress, Filmfare Award for Best Actress and much more.

Priyamani is currently doing Lakshmi in Kannada, Baburao Ninnodala in Telugu and Anna Bond in Kannada and Grandmaster in Malayalam. The actress is yet to sign a Tamil film.
